Some people study the relation between songs' lyrics and the society at that period of time.
I can't tell what the society was like from the lyrics I found.
Worse, I can't even understand every one of them. Lyrics are like poems. So hard to understand them clearly.
I tried to put them into groups by their main ideas, so here are 3 of them:
Peace-loving:

And there are still a lot of lyrics that I don't know how to categorize. I'll post them here soon.
Three main ideas are quite enough. Why don't you Google the lyrics and studies on them? After reading them, write down the key info you can use instead of pasting the whole webpages.
